Faith Heritage --- 2 Timothy 1:3-10

Published on May 10, 2026 at 2:36 p.m.

May the peace of Christ be with you and your family! The early church grew in a world where formal religious authority was overwhelmingly male, yet the home was the primary site of spiritual formation, and women—especially mothers and grandmothers—were its spiritual architects. In his letter to Timothy, Paul presents Timothy’s faith as genuine, steadfast, and enduring, rooted not merely in personal conviction but in a faith heritage passed down through his household, specifically through his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice. Their faith was “without hypocrisy” and was visibly embodied in daily life. On Mother’s Day, we remember that Timothy’s courage and calling grew from a mother’s and grandmother’s faithful witness, reminding us that God so often builds His church through the loving, unseen work of women who pass faith from one generation to the next. All are welcome to join us in our worship and fellowship on this special occasion and always!
